I'm sitting in my bedroom in the dark with a candle lit, insense burning, drinking a jim beam and coke, listening to Third Eye Blind sing about how I've felt in the past few weeks. Specifically the part of a newer song that goes.......
Ever get the feeling that you've been cheated?
Busted up now, been defeated
All dry bones we hold no water
A big fake smile and you try harder
Time wound down and you've been cashed
Half measures are half-assed
How did I ever end up this way?
Life alone in disarray
It seems like yesterday that it was January on a cold Detroit night and I was riding back to my friends house after a night out drinking, thinking about how 2005 was going to turn out, almost with a nervous apprehension.
Then May rolled around and I found myself flying to Quebec City with a friend and a massive amount of people from his company. I desperately wanted to spend days wandering around this beautiful old city by myself but was obligated to participate in the constant group activities because of the free trip.
My turn came in August when I flew to Boston with a friend of mine and just explored the depths of the city the entire time we were there. I wish I would have had more time in Boston, I finally felt like I was getting the hang of the place and it was time to go. I'm not too impressed with the photographic results, but it was still a fun trip.
A few weeks ago my mom and I left Tampa on a train and toured Washington DC for a week. I was amazed by this city, it wasn't what I was expecting. I would definitely like to go back sometime.
No more trips scheduled for this year, just 6 day work weeks until Christmas.
